Language is like code, encoded in certain patterns of actions like vocal noises, which are then decoded to decypher meaning by someone else. Our ability to communicate is founded on not only our larger brains and ability to control our facial muscles, but also our need for complex social behaviours such as the ability to negotiate, trade and bargain.
